Xacc/280 Financial Analysis - 1267 Words

Financial Analysis XACC/280 February 05, 2012 The two major companies that manufacture beverages are PepsiCo and the Cocoa-Cola Co. These two companies have been in competition for many years and both companies have a variety of choices when purchasing one of their beverages. These companies can be identified through their products such as; if a person were to buy a Pepsi the person would know it came from PepsiCo, and if someone were to buy a coke they would know it was from the Cocoa-Cola Co. If a person looks at the horizontal analysis it will give more information. There are two different ways to do a formula for this. The first would be using the current year and subtract from the base year. The second formula you would divide the current year amount from the base amount. A person can see from the analysis that both companies had a fewer profits in 2005 over 2004. The increase of operation expenses was the cause of low net profits. Both companies need to rethink their operating cost to decrease their expenses which in return can help increase their profit margin. As stated above these calculations can be of some interest to the right investor and that investor would need to do more calculations and more researching to find out whether either company is right for them. Research ing these companies has opened my eyes to new ways to find out very important information that I might need if I were going to invest or even work at one of these companies.
